Elyse Fenton’s trying times as the wife of a man serving in Iraq not only made her stronger. She won an internationally recognized award for documenting her trials.
Fenton won the Dylan Thomas Award, given by the University of Wales to honor works written in English by people under 30. Fenton, of Philadelphia, is the first American and first poet to win for her work chronicling her life as her husband served in Iraq. Suan Philips has the full radio report.
