Holiday weekend not enough to boost Atlantic City casino revenue
With less than $300 million in revenue for the month of May, Atlantic City casinos now have a 33-month slump on their hands.
The $290.6 million in revenue from last month fell short of May 2010’s $319.7 million in revenue, as the Press of Atlantic City reports. That number marks a 9 percent dip for the city’s 11 casinos.
Revenue has been hurting since September 2008, and with one fewer Saturday in May this year, even the strong holiday weekend couldn’t boost the numbers.
