Happy New Year
Well, folks, the party’s over. The holiday festivities have come to an end, and it’s the first work day of a new year.
Unlike many of us, President Obama managed to get some work done over the holiday: While vacationing in Hawaii, he signed into law a bill to provide aid to survivors of the Sept. 11 attacks and first responders who became ill working in the ruins at the World Trade Center.
Speaking of Sept. 11, today marks the first day of a long journey for troops deploying to Afghanistan:
New Jersey Army National Guard members will board buses today in Cape May and Cherry Hill, heading to war.
