Hampton Moore Elementary evacuated
J. Hampton Moore Elementary School was evacuated early this morning, just as school was starting. Someone in the building, at Tyson and Summerdale avenues, reported a gas odor, and several students became ill.
The building was evacuated and ventilated around 8:30 a.m., and the situation was reported under control just 30 minutes later.
