Good Samaritans in yesterday’s fiery crash on I-95 identified as National Guard members

Pennsylvania National Guard Staff Sgt. Kristen Brown and Staff Sgt. Angel Mendez were two of the Good Samaritans who sprang into action Tuesday evening during a fiery crash on southbound I-95.

Fox29 spoke with Brown and Mendez about how they used their training to help a truck driver who was unconscious at the wheel with his foot on the gas pedal as the car became engulfed in flames.
It happened during the evening rush hour Tuesday near the Philadelphia sports stadiums. WHYY “On Canvas” producer Steve Kwansik shot a cell phone video of the wreck and rescue as he happened to be traveling northbound in a cab at the time.
