Go Skateboarding Day highlights Philadelphia’s skatepark master plan

Today is Go Skateboarding Day, which is exactly what it sounds like.

Parks and skate shops all around Philadelphia are hosting events to mark the momentous occasion, and this year’s “holiday” comes at the perfect time.

The Franklin’s Paine Skatepark Fund has teamed up with the city’s Department of Parks & Recreation to create a skatepark master plan. Eight locations for skateparks around the city have already been identified, but the long-term goal is for Philadelphia to have 30 to 40 skatepark destinations.
