Southwest Philadelphia water main break shuts down area streets

A broken water main is causing a geyser of water to spew into the sky in Southwest Philly.

The break, at 54th and Whitby Streets, was reported at around 5:30 a.m.

Icing is a concern due to the low temperatures this morning — according to philly.com, officials have closed streets in the area and have requested salt trucks to deal with icy conditions on roadways.
