Flooded Cumberland County road expected to reopen by Christmas

A flooded road in Hopewell Township damaged in August is expected to be back open by Christmas.

The Press of Atlantic City reports construction has begun on Holding Road, which sustained flood damage between Silver Lake Road, County Road 704 and Columbia Highway, County Road 617 in August.

Heavy rain damaged the road on August 14, followed by flooding from Hurricane Irene later in the month.

The Press of Atlantic City says crews will rebuild a section of the road and expect to have it ready for traffic by Christmas.
