Firefighter returns to post after posing for calendar

Philadelphia Firefighter Jack Slivinski can go back to work. After being reassigned last week from his coveted spot at Rescue 1, Slivinski can return to the Northern Liberties unit with just a verbal warning.

Commissioner Lloyd Ayers reassigned Slivinski last week after Slivinski posed for a firefighters calendar without a shirt on. The pose didn’t sit well with Ayers, who said the department needs to focus on safety.

Yesterday, NewsWorks partner Philadelphia Weekly called our attention to a video of Ayers talking up an erotic book retailer while in uniform. Slivinski got his post back today.
