Fatal fall

University of Pennsylvania officials say they are investigating the death of a man who was injured in a fall inside a fraternity house at a New Year’s Eve party.

Police say 20-year-old Matt Crozier fell about 30 feet in a stairway at the privately owned Phi Kappa Sigma house. He was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was pronounced dead early Wednesday. The Philadelphia-area native was attending John Carroll University in Ohio, where he was a member of the basketball team.

Penn officials called his death “a tragic loss.”
