Eye on corruption

    A judge today granted Pennsylvania state Sen. Ray Musto’s request to delay his arraignment on charges including bribery and fraud. Musto had been scheduled for a court appearance on Wednesday but it was postponed until December 15.

    Prosecutors released an indictment last week charging Musto with taking more than $35,000 in cash and services from a contractor in exchange for his influence. Musto’s attorney says he’s confident a jury will find his client did nothing wrong.

    The 81-year-old Luzerne County Democrat is retiring Tuesday. He first joined the legislature in 1971.
