Expert’s tips for protecting cars from hot weather

Hot steering wheels and steaming seat belt buckles are to be expected this week as temps remain in the 90s and the Delaware Valley deals with ground-level ozone.

And even though a seat belt buckle burn will leave you swearing every time, your car’s insides could be affected by the heat, too. Hugh Snyderman of Snyderman’s Gulf station at Second and Vine streets shared some tips with KYW for helping your car through the heat wave.

Keep an eye on fluid levels and tire pressure and don’t top off your gas tank.

And if nothing else, at least remember to park in the shade.
