His dad has accepted a plea deal that will result in lesser charges for the incident that took place earlier this year, as Fox29 reports.

When 41-year-old Francisco Torres of Easton refused to take his son to the dentist, the 14-year-old got out the pliers and got the job done himself.

An attorney for the father says Torres was unaware of how much pain his son had been in when the teenager asked to be taken to the dentist for persistent pain. The boy wound up needing surgery to remove shards of his teeth from his gums.

Torres waived a hearing yesterday and pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment instead of facing charges for endangering the welfare of a child.
