High pressure continues to control our weather, but that ends today. Today’s the pick of the weekend, and it looks like some are already enjoying it in Atlantic City (view courtesy of Atlantic City Webcam).

Sun and clouds today, with highs in the upper 70s along the coast, low 80s inland. A light onshore wind will keep the flies away. Mostly cloudy tonight, and there’s a chance of showers, particularly in South Jersey, courtesy of an approaching low pressure system. Overnight lows stretching from the upper 50s north to low-mid 60s south.

Tomorrow will be mostly cloudy, with a slight chance of showers for the northern half of the state and a much greater chance in the southern half. But most of the precipitation should be during the morning and early afternoon hours, as the low pressure system will be heading out to sea from the south. Highs in the 70s for all.

BOAT/BEACH: Beach cameras indicate that it’s beautiful along the entire stretch of coastline. The light onshore wind will keep the beach cool. Breakers and swells are small but expected to increase tonight and into the morning in southern beaches and waters as a low pressure system kicks up the wind. The National Weather Service advises that it may have to issue a Small Craft Advisory for ocean waters from Atlantic City to the south by daybreak Sunday. There is a low risk of rip currents, but always swim near a lifeguard.
