Drexel student-developed app eases search for scholarship dollars

The ever-increasing cost of higher education compels more and more students and their families to rely on grants and scholarships to help them pay their way. Christopher Gray is a third-year Drexel University student who successfully navigated that application maze and has in turn helped develop Scholly, a scholarship search app.
He joined NewsWorks Tonight’s Host Dave Heller to talk about his own experience applying to college in high school and how the app might help students today.
According the the Scholly website, Gray won $1.3 million in scholarships to attend college — including the Gates Millennium Scholarship, Coca Cola Scholarship, AXA Achievement Scholarship, and the Horatio Alger Scholarship. He was an intern at Fannie Mae and he currently sits on the investment committee of First Round Capital’s Dorm Room Fund.
