Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man who they say exposed his genitals to an 8-year-old girl at a store in Toms River on Nov. 6.

The man followed the child through multiple aisles of the Dollar Tree at 1358 Hooper Avenue, subsequently placing himself within the girl’s personal space, said Ralph Stocco, spokesman for the Toms River Police Department, in a release.

“It was then that he was observed to have his genitals exposed and in his hand,” Stocco said. “The girl’s aunt observed this and immediately confronted the man, who then fled the store.”

While police acknowledge that the photos are not high quality, they still hope to identify the suspect given the nature of the incident.
