Design chosen for new police and fire memorial at Franklin Square Park

A design concept has been chosen for the new police and firefighters memorial in Franklin Square Park.

The current Living Flame memorial has been there since 1976, and the police and firefighter unions announced last Fall they’d be taking submissions to come up with a replacement.
Enter Moto Designshop of Old City. KYW reports the team submitted the winning design of marble, granite and steel that will take the shape of a badge honoring fallen Philadelphia police and firefighters.

Funds for the project have not yet been secured.
