Department store chains come and gone

Longtime Philadelphia area residents perhaps have fond recollections of the many department store chains that have come and gone.

Strawbridge and Clothier, Wanamakers, Hess’s of Allentown, E.J. Korvette’s, and certainly Gimbel’s. 

Newsworks Tonight host Dave Heller interviewed Michael Lisicky.  Lisicky has written books on Wanamakers and the Baltimore department store Hutzler’s, and his new book, called Gimbel’s has it, is about that department store chain.
