A Delaware street gang member convicted in a 2012 soccer tournament shooting that left three people dead has been sentenced to death.

Otis Phillips was sentenced to death Friday for the murder of tournament organizer Herman Curry, who prosecutors say was targeted so he could not testify about a 2008 killing. Phillips also was convicted in that earlier killing last year.

Another gang member, Jeffrey Phillips, who is not related to Otis Phillips, was sentenced Friday to life in prison without parole for his role the killings of Curry and 16-year-old soccer player Alexander Kamara.
