Dec. 6 Senate committee meeting for Houstoun’s SRC nomination

The Notebook is reporting the Senate Education Committee has set a date to review Pa. Gov. Tom Corbett’s nomination of Feather Houstoun to the School Reform Commission.

Houstoun, the former head of the William Penn Foundation, was nominated to the SRC in October when then-SRC member Denise McGregor Armbrister announced her resignation. Houstoun needs Senate confirmation to serve as the SRC’s fifth member. Pending that, she’ll join members Joseph Dworetkzy, Lorene Cary, Wendell Pritchett and Pedro Ramos.

The Senate committee wil meet Dec. 6.
