An autopsy has ruled the death of the elderly Lacey woman found in her house Saturday as accidental, authorities announced.

Ruth Jacobs, 91, of Abbey Court in the Forked River section of Lacey died after falling, said Al Della Fave, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office spokesman.

The autopsy, conducted by Dr. Ian Hood of the Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office, found a single linear laceration on the right side of Jacobs’ head, just above the ear canal, leading the examiner to rule the manner of death as due to a head injury and fractured hip, according to Della Fave.

The investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office, and Lacey Police Department confirmed the accidental death finding, Della Fave said.
