Former WPVI weatherman Dave Roberts to deliver commencement address at Chestnut Hill College

Former WPVI weatherman Dave Roberts will deliver the graduation speech on Saturday at Chestnut Hill College. Roberts retired in November 2009 from Channel 6 in Philadelphia after working there for 31 years. Roberts was most often seen on the 5pm, 6pm, and 11pm newscasts.

Dave Roberts is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and appeared in Brian DePalma’s “Blow Out” with John Travolta. He has also made guest appearances on ABC’s soap opera “All My Children”, Dick Clark’s “Inside America” and ABC’s “Thirty – Something.”

An honorary Doctor of Laws degree will be awarded to Dave Roberts for his outstanding community service work supporting local charities that include the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Lupus Foundation, and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. 

Chestnut Hill College is a four-year coed Catholic college.
