Darby not enforcing spot-saving fine

As if it were every really an enforceable law to begin with, Darby’s parking spot-saving fines have not been enforced in the latest storm.

Township officials report as of last night, no tickets had been issued and few, if any, violations had been noted. The Delaware County Times tells a different story, citing a handful of residents unwilling to give up their spots.

Passed Jan. 13, Ordinance 692 makes it a finable offense to save a parking spot in the snow. Ordinance 693 makes it illegal to dump snow in the street.
