Cumberland ranks last in health for New Jersey counties

Cumberland County has been ranked last in New Jersey for its health. More sympathetic we could not be.

Though the News of Cumberland County reports Cumberland has low smoking and obesity rates, overall, it’s the unhealthiest of the state’s 21 counties, based on information from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.

In response, the Cumberland County Health Department will hold a chronic disease self-management program for adults. The group meets two hours a week for six weeks will help people better manage their symptoms and get back control of their lives.
