Cruising off

The Delaware River Port Authority board voted today to end operations of the Philadelphia Cruise Terminal. Effective Dec. 31, 2010, the decision is expected to save $627,000 in operating expenses, and eliminate the need for $18 million in future capital improvements. An addition $2.2 million in savings is expected from the lease termination.

The DRPA, which had operated the Navy Yard terminal for 12 years, will honor all commitments through June.
