Crash closes portion of Route 70 in Brick

    A 39-year-old man suffered minor injuries are he crashed into a utility pole on Route 70 in Brick late Tuesday morning, police said.

    Anthony Cutolo of Colts Neck was traveling west on Route 70 when he lost control of his vehicle following a mechanical problem and struck a utility pole near the highway’s intersection with Brick Boulevard, according to a release from the Brick Township Police Department. 

    Cutolo’s vehicle overturned after the crashing into the utility pole, which snapped at its base, the release said. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

    Route 70 was closed for approximately 90 minutes due to wires in the roadway.
