Crash closes I-195 lane

Motorists who use Interstate 195 to travel to Trenton should expect delays for the next few weeks.

Westbound traffic is restricted to one lane at the I-195 overpass in Robbinsville following a fiery crash on the New Jersey Turnpike yesterday.

Authorities say a dump truck overturned and burst into flames near Interchange 7A, killing the driver. The crash also damaged the overpass, causing major traffic delays.

Officials say the westbound trip I-195 toward Trenton is expected to be “very difficult” for up to six weeks.

I-195 traffic will eventually use a new overpass that’s under construction. Officials will try to accelerate completion of the project.

Eastbound lanes on I-195 and the turnpike in both directions are open.
