Cops: Mom locked mentally impaired son, 18, out in the cold

Police outside Philadelphia are searching for a woman they say locked her mentally impaired son out of the house when wind chill temperatures were near zero.

Upper Darby police obtained a warrant Thursday for the arrest of Karima Tolbert on a charge of recklessly endangering another person.

Chief Michael Chitwood says the 34-year-old Tolbert locked her 18-year-old son out of their home in freezing temperatures when wind chills hit 2 degrees. He didn’t say when the incident happened.
