Construction begins on Old City’s Hotel Monaco
With just a year to go before the projected opening, construction has begin on Old City’s Hotel Monaco.
Located at Fifth and Chestnut streets in the former Lafayette Building, the hotel will feature 268 rooms, a rooftop lounge and restaurant, as Director of Operations Nick Gregory told KYW today.
Demolition has been going on for more than a year at the site overlooking the Liberty Bell. Gregory wore a Phillies hardhat for the groundbreaking, naturally.
