Prisoner release

What would Tucker Carlson have to say about this?

Governor Ed Rendell’s office says he’s about to sign commutations so that three convicted killers will be released from state prison after spending decades behind bars.

Rendell spokesman Gary Tuma said yesterday Rendell plans to issue the clemency orders today for inmates Keith O. Smith, William Fultz and Tyrone Werts, the AP reports.

All three are convicted of separate slayings in Philadelphia that occurred in the 1970s.

A Corrections Department spokeswoman says it’s not clear how soon they’ll be released to halfway houses.

Tuma says that none of the three did the shooting, that their accomplices received lighter sentences and that they’ve all served extensive periods behind bars.
