Community groups protest Philadelphia curfew
Several Philadelphia residents want city officials to take note of their displeasure for the city’s new curfew laws.
CBS 3 reports the protesters took to South Street Saturday night to protest the curfew.
According to the report, event organizers say the city is spending thousands of dollars every weekend to enforce the curfew when it should be spending the money on other issues.
The demonstration was part of the International Day of Resistance Against Africa and African People, with demonstrations held in other parts of the world, in addition to Philadelphia.
CBS 3 reports independent mayoral candidate Diop Olugbala was a speaker at the event.
