Commonwealth taking applications for community beautification projects

It’s hard for a state to keep track of what its many communities need, which is why Pennsylvania is going straight to the source and taking applications for its Fresh Paint Days program.

Tax-exempt groups are invited to submit applications to Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, which will provide the supplies needed to spruce up a local building with a fresh coat of paint.

Ten winners will be selected, and come September, volunteers will paint the building in need with up to $40 gallons of paint and $200 in supplies provided by the state. The two groups who best complete that task according to the visual impact and community revitalization requirements will win $500 from PPG Pittsburgh Paints and The Home Depot.
