Colorado newspaper uses Wayne hardward store as example of small business success

There’s a Lowe’s opening in Silverthorne, Co., next year, and small businesses in the state’s Summit County are getting worried.

The Summit Daily tried to put those fears to rest recently with a pretty meaty article about a thriving hardware store in Wayne, Pa. Radnor Patch first found this article from July, which highlights how Hardware Plus II competes with several nearby Lowe’s and Home Depot locations in the face of a recession.

The store’s secret? More advertising, more employees and fully stocked shelves.
