Cold hard cash

    TheNew Jersey’s Senate Legislative Oversight Committee will look into today a portion of the state’s federal stimulus money. Ninety-fiver percent of money meant for weatherization help for low-income residents remains unspent.

    The $119 million in funding is designated for insulation and heat loss reduction costs for the states low-income families. According to an Association Press article, a report from state Auditior Stephen Eells show cost controls for the program have not been properly implemented and “unreasonable spending” has occurred.
