Code orange

A code orange has been issued for New Castle County, Del., where winter conditions have created unhealthy air quality. The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control has issued the alert due to an increase in dust and vehicle emissions along I-95.

Kent and Sussex counties will also see higher concentrations of these particulates, the News Journal reports, but not enough to warrant the alert. Children, elderly and those with heart and lung conditions should be cautious.
