Christie signs bill to allow home delivery of wine

New Jersey residents can now have wines from state vineyards and small out-of-state wineries sent directly to their homes.

They have Gov. Chris Christie to thank in part, as he signed off on the bill today.
The bill got lawmakers’ approval last week, though liquor stores and distributors say the move will hurt their businesses.

The bill first made it to the Senate in June, when supporters argued the service would appeal mostly to people who are already going outside the New Jersey wine distributors bubble to find their drink of choice.
