Checking up on Spartacus

Well, WHYY’s Elizabeth Fiedler followed up on the health of Spartacus.

NewsWorks’ readers asked about Spartacus, the 2-year-old pit bull that was rescued by the PSPCA from a Philly dog fighting ring last month.

Well, WHYY’s Elizabeth Fiedler followed up on the health of Spartacus.

Spartacus is doing well, says PSPCA spokeswoman Wendy Marano.

His injuries are healed and he is receiving ongoing monitoring and veterinary care.

Regarding his adoption status, Spartacus is evidence in the case. His owner did not sign him over and he is being held in protective custody. It is yet to be determined how long Spartacus will remain in custody.
