Charges dropped against woman arrested during feeding ban protest

Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams has withdrawn charges filed against Khadijah White in March.

White was arrested during a protest outside a hearing on the the city’s outdoor feeding regulations, and accused police of purposely breaking her finger in the process.

City Paper reports the decision to withdraw the charges comes on the heels of a federal judge’s ruling to uphold an injunction against Philadelphia’s outdoor feeding ban. White, a Penn doctoral candidate, missed being honored at the university’s Women of Color at Penn Award ceremony.
