Casey protestors at Villanova graduation criticize his “anti-Catholic” voting record

Two local residents protested outside Villanova’s graduation ceremony this past weekend on the grounds that the commencement speaker, U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., “doesn’t vote according to Catholic doctrine,” Barbara Murray told The Deleware County Daily Times

Murray, a 1980 Villanova grad alongside Jim Schneller, held signs while graduates and their families walked into the ceremony, arguing that Casey is not against abortion because of his support for the funding of Planned Parenthood.  Casey upholds that his support for Planned Parenthood is accompanied with the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits all clinics from using federal funding to provide abortion services.
