Members of Philly CarShare can now access cars in 13 other cities when traveling. CarShare Executive Director Jerry Furgoine says the deal gives people who want to support the car sharing arrangement an opportunity to do so when they are out of town.

Furgione: A lot of our members are advocates of car sharing and of non-profit car sharing organizations and this gives people the opportunity when they are visiting other areas of the country or Canada to actually be able to use those other car sharing organizations rather than renting a car when they get there.

Furgoine says members will be able to reserve cars in other cities through the Philly CarShare website – but will have to pay the car reservation rates of the city they’re visiting.
