Carl Lewis, Jon Stewart, Dumbo win N.J. Senate write-in votes

New Jersey 8th District voters had one name to choose from in the Senate race last week.

Most went with unopposed Republican Sen. Dawn Addiego. But others would have rather seen, say, Dumbo, win the election.

The animated elephant, Mickey Mouse and Daily Show host Jon Stewart all got write-in votes in the election, the Inquirer reports. So did Olympic medalist Carl Lewis, who was a real candidate until the courts finally ruled he didn’t meet the state residency requirements to run.
