Camden creative arts students return from jazz festival

Returning to school has probably never felt so good. Students from Camden’s Creative Arts High School will return this afternoon from New Orleans, where they won 19 awards at the New Orleans’ Annual Jazz & Heritage Festival.

Mayor Dana Redd and Assemblyman Gilbert L. “Whip” Wilson will join the welcome rally outside the school to honor the jazz band, concert choir and string ensemble students in ninth through 12th grades.

Music program directors Patricio Acevedo, Jamal Dickerson and Suzzette Ortiz joined the students in Louisiana, as did School Board Member Martha F. Wilson, Camden City Councilman William Spearman and his wife, Michelle Spearman.
