Bucks County farm on list of America’s best pumpkin patches

Some good news for pumpkins today after farmers reported last week Hurricane Irene’s crop-destroying floods will create a pumpkin shortage.

Bucks County’s Shady Brook Farms has been named to the list of Best Pumpkin Patches in America.

HalloweenAttractions.com calls the farm’s Pumpkinfest the nation’s sixth-best patch on a list of 13. An Omaha patch came in first, and no other local attractions made the list.

It was reported last week that Irene destroyed hundreds of pumpkin crops around the Northeast. Farmers were already off to a rough start, since heavy spring rains forced them to postpone plantings by a few weeks.
