Brady’s competition

Republican firebrand John Featherman has set his sights on U.S. Rep. Bob Brady, D-Philadelphia.

Asked whether taking on the popular Democrat was a political suicide mission, Featherman replied, “Everything I’ve attained was something that some people said was unattainable.”

As evidence, he cited the Republican mayoral primary, in which he nearly beat the endorsed Republican candidate, Karen Brown.

Indeed, much of Featherman’s ire is directed at the official city Republican organization, which he called “a branch of Bob Brady’s Democratic Party.”

Featherman said he would officially announce his bid to unseat the congressman on Thursday at the Republican committee meeting.77
