Boy dies, man hurt when car hits tree in N.J.

A young boy was killed and a man was injured when their car struck a tree on a southern New Jersey roadway.

But it’s still not clear what caused the crash, which occurred shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday in Mullica Township.

Police in the Atlantic County community say 10-year-old township resident Jaiden Ohnemuller-Muskett was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. He had been sitting in the car’s rear passenger seat.

The driver, 28-year-old township resident Philip Muskett, suffered moderate chest and leg injuries and was flown to a hospital. Further details on his condition were not released, and authorities did not immediately disclose his relationship to the child.
