Billboards honor South Jersey’s Olympic gold medalists

America won several gold medals at the London 2012 Olympic games. South Jersey won two, and boy are they proud.

Wrestler Jordan Burroughs won the gold in the men’s 74-kg freestyle, beating Iran’s Sadegh Saeed Goudarzi 1-0, 1-0. And soccer player Carli Lloyd scored the only two goals in the women’s soccer game against Japan.
“We are all so proud of Carli and Jordan and all of our Olympic team and wanted to find a fitting tribute to honor their remarkable accomplishment,” said Drew Katz, Chief Executive Officer of Interstate Outdoor Advertising. His Cherry Hill-based company has put up billboards in Winslow Township and Delran, where Burroughs and Lloyd hail from.

You can see the signs on northbound US Route 130 near Creek Road in Delran Township and on US Route 206 near US Route 30 in Winslow Township.
