Benefits cut
Cumberland County officials have voted to cut off health benefits for elected and appointed officers. Freeholders ar also encouraging autonomus boards to adopt the same policy.
The benefits elimination will take effect for upcoming terms. Officials currently holding positions will not be affected by the change until they’re re-elected, the Vineland Daily Journal reports.
The cuts are expected to save more than $100,000 a year.
