North walkway on Ben Franklin bridge to close; south will open

Tomorrow morning (May 2, 2012) at 6 a.m., the north walkway on the Ben Franklin Bridge will open, and the south walkway will close in order to accommodate ongoing bridge improvements.

Alternating walkway closures – scheduled to meet bridge construction requirements – usually last between four and six weeks. However, there is no set time for the closure.

One exception: At 6 a.m. on Monday, May 7, the Ben Franklin Bridge walkways will return to north-closed/south-opened for one day. The north walkway will re-open and the south walkway will close again at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8.
