Beer pong championship to be held in Atlantic City

It may be Monday morning, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start looking forward to next weekend. Specifically, to the World Beer Pong championship in Atlantic City.

A three-day tournament to be held at Resorts Casino Hotel starting Saturday will result in one team of players being awarded the $25,000 grand prize.

In case you’re confused: Beer pong involves teams bouncing or tossing ping pong balls into cups of beer. But in the tournament, glasses of water are used.

Sam Pines, commissioner of the tour, says his group took an underground activity popular on college campuses and turned it into a national competition.
