Bare minimum

Pennsylvania is looking to join seven other states in increasing the minimum wage to match inflation. As of Jan. 1, minimum wage workers in Arizona, Colorado, Montana, Ohio, Oregon, Vermont and Washington will receive increases of 9 to 12 cents to help meet cost of living expenses.

The Keystone Research Center reports full-time minimum wage workers, three-quarters of whom are 20 or older, earn a $15,000/year salary.

Pennsylvania exceed the federal minimum wage requirements in 2007, but was caught up with in 2009 when the federal standard became $7.25 per hour.
